We  came to Leader Luo's No.3 store market. Today Leader Luo would lead us to  visit vice leader's and his orchid gardens.  Everyone was very excited. We got on Leader Luo's bus and went forward  with great strength and vigor. We found a picture that Leader Luo's was  awarded the Prize of Super Agriculturist on bus, so our teacher took a  picture readily.

Firstly,  we arrived at vice leader Chen's orchid garden. We saw a magnificent view  of orchids. Everyone yelled excitedly. “Magnificence is beauty” can  explain this situation! There was a long rail on our way. Vice leader  told us it was used for transport trucks.

You can have a closer look.

Look! Leader Luo put the orchid in order attentively.

We  saw each scape of the orchid put a straw while we were walking. Can you  guess what the straw’s function is? Originally the scape of the orchid is  very long, so the straw is used to prevent the orchid from bending and  keep straight. We couldn't help admiring Taiwanese farmers'  intelligence--a cheap and humble straw plays an important role in the  process of the orchid's growth.

We  saw the team leader and the vice leader put the orchids in order at any  time on the way. Shouldn't we take lessons in their attention to the  orchid? Having seen their attentive eyes, we took out our cameras to  catch these beautiful views.

There were many watering cans in the orchid garden, but the team leader told us that they were used for the lower orchids only. The lower ones had to be sprayed with pesticides.

Leader Luo demonstrated us how to put the straw in the orchid.

Vice leader also put a straw in the orchid readily.

Vice leader Dingsin Chen

The team leader kept asking us to visit his orchid garden. Eventhough we didn’t have much time, we still tried to drive to the mountains at a high altitude. Originally the leader’s orchids belonged to some unique kinds. The orchid that we saw at the first time was the red orchid.

Leader A-sen Luo is the local farmer in Dakeng area. He heard that other flower farmers said flowers could get better profits, so he tried to plant orchid by himself. Several years ago, when planted the orchid at the first time, the flowers flew everywhere after they bloomed. Leader Luo was unfamiliar with the orchid then, he only knew the orchid might suffer from the “blossoming disease.” But the disease proved to be “ hook bacteria” , the natural enemy of the flowers after consulting with the other farmers. After that, Leader Luo took the right remedial steps to solve the problem. He pointed to the thermograph and told us that the landform of Dakeng was different from Sinshe mountain area, its temperature difference between day and night was remarkably. Therefore, the quality of Dakeng’s orchids is good and its life in the vase is longer as well.

After the team leader had an idea of planting orchids gradually, his flowers were all blooming and great. Hence, he won the praise and attracted other farmers to join him. He even developed other new orchid kinds with the aroma such as Wild cat, Perfume, Big golden eagle and Hawaii.
