　Question:

Excuse me. Why should Uncle Gu have the marketing team?

　Answer:

People can unite their efforts by this team to decrease the cost of the agricultural marketing and promote its competitive ability. In addition, they can improve their marketing methods and enhance the promotion for its education by production skills to raise the economic benefits to the agricultural products.

　Question:

What is the main job in the marketing team?

　Answer:

The agricultural marketing used to be the style of personal business. The marketing team is mainly for the peasants whose lands are adjacent or who run the similar business. They can expand their market by cooperating each other, decrease the cost of production, increase their profits and then raise their income.  

　Question:

Is the marketing team everywhere in Taiwan?

　Answer:

Yes! Nowadays there are about six thousand marketing teams.

  Question:

How many fruit marketing teams are there in Dakeng?

　Answer:

There are about two marketing teams--No.1 and No.4.

　Question:

Are the marketing teams categorized by the kind or the area?

　Answer:

They are categorized by the kind of the fruit.

　Question:

How many kinds of citrus are there in Dakeng?

　Answer:

Yes, but I can’t answer you completely. Most of them are Ponkan（citrus）, Tankan（citrus）and Murcott（citrus）.

　Question:

Which one has the best quality?

　Answer:

The better kinds would be oranges, tangerines and pomelos etc.

　Question:

What kind of the citrus can bring better economic profits?

　Answer:

It is very difficult to judge. It depends on the management as it would influence the production.

　Question:

How many tons of Dakeng’s citrus production in a year? 

　Answer:

About 2,500 tons.

　Question:

What percent is Dakeng’s tangerines of the others in Taiwan approximately?

　Answer:

Few, less than five percent.

　Question:

How long does it take to plant Dakeng’s tangerines?

　Answer:

It takes about four or five years from planting to the harvest.

　Question:

 How do the farmers deal with the tangerines after harvesting?

　Answer:

The tangerines need placing in the 2˚C cold water for one hour after harvesting.

　Question:

Where are the tangerines for sale mostly?

　Answer:

Well, Taiwan or Japan.

The profile of Dakeng’s tangerines.

  Dakeng is known for producing tangerines in the central Taiwan. The planting area is 120 hectares. The place is at an altitude of 500 feet. As the difference of the temperature between day and night in the mountains is remarkably and the farmers use organic fertilizer, the tangerines are big and delicious.  Its attractive taste of sweet and sour has been the excellence in the market. The production of the tangerines is the most among Dakeng’s citrus. The followings are Pokan（citrus） and Murcott（citrus）.  Yanyang（a fruit’s name）hasn’t start to sell in the market.

  These years people are permitted to enter Dakeng fruit gardens so that they can  pick and eat fruit readily to enjoy the most fresh and sweet taste.

How many  bamboo shoots marketing teams are there in Dakeng?

Answer:

There are only two marketing teams.

Question:

Are the marketing teams categorized by the kind or the area?

Answer:

They are categorized by the kind of the bamboo shoot.

Answer:

There are many kinds, but most of them are Majhu（bamboo ）shoots.

Answer:

The tangerines need pre-cooling, placing in the 2˚C cold water for one hour and finally put them in the ice, which can be preserved about two weeks.

Where are the bamboo shoots for sale mostly? Are they sold to Taiwan herself or abroad?

Answer:

Bamboo shoots are mainly sold to Taiwan herself.

Question:

What is the working ratio of people to machines?

Answer:

At present, we still need more work by people than machines.

Are there any other places known for bamboo shoots in Taiwan?

 Answer:

Guanmiao and Wugu are famous for green bamboo shoots and Dakeng is famous for Majhu（bamboo）shoots.
