Walking on the way, we suddenly
saw a big totem in our eyes. We took a careful look. It was a spiritual symbol
of scouting—there were an owl, a woodpecker, a dove, a cuckoo, an
antelope, a wolf, a deer and a leopard in the totem. Here was Jhongjheng
camp area. The presenter said there were many scouting activities were
held here. Jhongjheng camp area is a scouting camp area and a training
site for attendants. This totem represents the spirit of the scouting
      target.
                                      Jhongjheng camp area is located
on the west of Dakeng’s Mt.Touke and the entrance of Walking Trail No.4 at
the altitude of 465 feet. It is the biggest camp area in Dakeng. It was
built by Taiching City Government Security Council of the Scouts. There
is a large piece land of Taiwan acacia. Each camp site is separated and
joined with the stone stairs. The camp and accommodate about 1500 people
with the complete supplies such as water faucets, restrooms, and rent
services concerned with camp appliances. There are many bird watching
areas, butterfly educational area, firefly nursing area, tourist fruit
farm and so on. This is really a good place for people to have barbecues,
go camping, go bird watching, go butterfly watching, watch flowers, go
hiking, go firefly watching to enjoy the nature.
                                      Presently, the camp area is
nursing the firefly positively. The place with the fire fly represents the
air is fresh and the air, dirt and water are all clean there. The firefly
watching area is beside the Walking Trail No.4; it is also a gathering
place for the whole Dakeng’s insects’.
