There are many introductions to
the old places and their histories in Taichung city. The
trails are mixed with flagstones and cement. The sub
broaded-leaved forest is bushy and around. People can see
the flowers of Tung oil trees everywhere in the mountains
between spring and summer. The flying white petals of the
flowers spread their fragrance around the whole mountain.
People can also see the macaques and a physical training
site. It is the suitable route for families to do exercise.

Characteristics :

This is the most popular walking
trail. On holiday, the parking lot are always overcrowded.
The local farmers will sell all kinds of agricultural
products and outside vendors will sell open-air coffee.
After entering the entrance, there is a little wooden bridge
across the valley and a 45° slope of
the walking trail whose name must be called "Hao Han Po,"
namely a slope for the brave man. Visitors have to pull the
rope and climb up the wooden ladder carefully. During the
break the insightful visitors would see a huge tree in the
middle of the walking trail. It is soap berry, which is
Dakeng's precious tree. If you don't know what it is, you
just make a detour.

Walking
Trail No.3 was severely destroyed by the earthquake and
rebuilt at last among the walking trails. During the
weekdays, there are a few visitors because it is more
difficult to hike than the others. Therefore, there are more
wild animals and plants than others so that many
bird-watching visitors take it as the foothold. Before the
earthquake, Before the earthquake Taiwanese macaques were
overcrowded here, so people could see many their traces.
Dakeng's agricultural product, the chayote, were also
suffered from this disaster. Currently there are few farmers
planting this fruit and the gathers of macaques are
increasing as well. Most of them are moved to Uncle Guo's
Wild Macaques' Park. But once in a while you see a solitary
group of several macaques, you must be careful. Lower down
your body, don't look at the macaques and walk away quickly.
