Review the first time of Yu Jen

The memory remains fresh that when I came to Yu Jen for interview, I was so nervous and shy. As time flies, it has been 12 years to be in Yu Jen. Thinking of the old building of Yu Jen and new buildings with new equipment lets me remember many unforgettable first times.

Because this was my first time to teach in a Church school, I was not familiar with Catholic ceremonies and Bible stories but felt fresh and interesting. Through other church teachers’ explanation in class, I understand Jesus’ selfless love and those missionary stories. This Little Angel class attracted my attention a lot and made me expect a lot as well. When at the first time that I held Montessori education and Mixed-age teaching, I appreciated every teacher's assistance and the guidance of sisters. When I started to teach in a small class, I felt afraid, worried, and dislike. I worried that those naughty students would often cry to search for their mothers. Fortunately, because parents cooperated very well and I made efforts in teaching with passion, after good communications with parents from time to time, small class teaching carried out smoothly and relationship with students was like a family. As time goes by, those students are now 5^th grade students. When the first time I dealt with administration affairs, because of my worries and asking for perfect, I was under huge pressure and couldn't get rid of it. After colleagues’ concerns, cooperation, understanding, and forgiveness, I was getting along well with colleagues and confident of facing challenges while working. In addition, colleagues’ supports are the biggest shield.

When looking back into the past 12 years, I have learned to deal with administration affairs since I only focused on teaching in the beginning. Yu Jen gives me many first times to experience. I appreciate God's bless and colleagues’ supports and want to say,“Happy Birthday to Yu Jen for it’s dedicates to education for 40 years.”
