Memories in Yu Jen

In a midsummer of several years ago, I was anxious but passionate to teach in Yu Jen. It is a Catholic elementary school and has a long history. The school let me who graduated from a Catholic university feel familiar and decrease nervousness. Then teaching in English camp made an indissoluble bond between Yu Jen and me.

I remembered that with the expectation of students and teachers, the new building was established. Students and teachers worked together by means of taking turns in moving books to the new library. Under Jesus trees, staff, faculty, and graduates always take the most beautiful pictures together every year. Before Blessing Ceremony in the school beginning, the school full of lots of blessings and religious atmosphere let us feel that we are blessed.

Coming to this big family begins many first times in my life, such as the first time of teaching in special class, the first time of learning computer, the first time of being a host, the first time of dealing with administration affairs, and the first time of planning events. Here are a group of colleagues with the same goal and we learn from each other and encourage each other. Because every day I get along with naive children and listen to their conversations, every moment of teaching has engraved upon my heart.

As time flies, I have been in the school for nine years and accompany with Yu Jen to experience many changes and growth. When every morning I face the first ray of the morning sun to walk on the green path on the Hsing Chin Rd., what comes to my view is the big wall-painting Let Children Come to Me. Although“Let children come to me.”is a simple word said by Jesus, it lets me think deeply and lets me remember my original intention of teaching.

I am happy to meet Yu Jen 40^th Anniversary and congratulate Yu Jen“Happy Birthday.”We all know that teaching achievement is not easy to reach. It is said,“It takes ten years to grow trees but a hundred years to rear people.”We have great responsibility in teaching, which is also a sacred mission. I believe that in the future, because you and me are in Yu Jen, the school will shine and excellent.
